There are two different types of admissions.
Normal Admission Round
Schools in Hampshire offer places to all children from the autumn term after their fourth birthday. Children born between 1 September 2021 and 31 August 2022 can start school in September 2026.
The main round of school applications for Year R places in September 2026 opens on 1st November 2025 and closes on 15th January 2026.
You can make an application online via the Hampshire County Council admissions website.

In Year Applications
Applying for a school place in-year is when a child needs a school place outside the usual admissions round, for example changing school mid-academic year due to a house move. We aim to respond to an in-year application within 10 school days, but no later than 15 school days.
If you are offered a place, we will contact you directly.
If you are refused a place, your child can:
- Be added to our waiting list
- Appeal the decision.
- You can also contact Hampshire Admissions Team who will be able to find you an alternative school
