New Reception Children Starting September 2021
Admissions for September 2021
First - welcome to our school! We are so pleased that you have chosen our school for your child to attend this coming academic year and beyond. We are looking forward to meeting you and are excited about developing a personal relationship with you to meet the educational and social needs of your child.
Confirming Your Child's Place
Once you have received your offer and are ready to accept your place you will need to provide the school with proof of your child's date of birth and 2 items of proof of your address e.g. birth certificate or passport and a utility bill with your address on. This will be need to be brought in person to the school office from Tuesday 20th April and by Tuesday 14th May. Due to current restrictions we are only accepting one person in the school office and you will need to wear a mask. You are welcome to come to the school office between 9:30 am and 2:30pm .
We hope that you understand that due to the recent exceptional circumstances of Covid-19, we are unable to offer our normal transition to school at the current time. However, we don't want you to worry and will be happy to discuss anything with you re. admission to school and ask that you call us to discuss your child's individual needs. Our number is 02380 666767 . If you leave a message and your contact number then a member of school staff or I will return your call as soon as we can.
Transition is really important, partly to allay any worries children might have, but also for parents. It’s a much bigger deal for some families than others, but it’s the start of a three-year relationship and we want to make sure it gets off to the best start possible. Like most schools around the UK, we would usually invite parents into school for information sessions and arrange for children to meet their teachers.
However we’re now thinking about alternative ways of helping new starters with the move to big school. This will be both in terms of how we can help them get a feel for the school, the staff and the way we do things, and what parents can do with children while they’re at home to get them ready for transition.
Parents are now likely to miss out on physically coming in to school before their child starts, but we’re exploring ways to make sure they have all the information they need, which will help everyone when school does begin. Please look at the videos from last year to give you a flavour of our school.
We will write to you as soon as we know more from the Government about how reintroduction to social life and schooling will take place. Until then - please access our website pages for key information and over the next few weeks we will be adding a timetable for the transition day and the timetable for September. Your child will also receive a letter explain which class they are in and who their teacher and teaching assistant will be.
We look forward to meeting and welcoming you to our school soon.
